An alumna of Film and Television Institute of India, Ritika has worked in Mumbai as an editor for over 8 years, before moving to New York (in 2016).
She started out as an assistant editor to the multi-award winning (Green Oscar, Filmfare and Screen) editor, Huzefa Lokhandwala from 2007-2011, and while working with him on more than 150 commercials/music videos/title sequences of films, she also worked on the edit of the much-acclaimed feature film, "Delhi Belly". During these four years, she was associated with the post production studio, Prime Focus, working both as an Offline (Avid/FCP) and Online editor (Autodesk Smoke).
2011-2014, Ritika continued working as an independent/lead editor on more than 70 tv commercials and other formats for tv/film with another leading post production studio, Pixion, in Mumbai.
And through Jan 2015-March 2016, she edited her first independent feature film called, "Sann Pachattar" (unreleased). The film is a political thriller, rooted in the suspension of democracy in Indian politics during the 70's, and was edited on Adobe Premiere Pro.
Since the beginning of her professional life, Ritika has been keen in fusing the idea of offline and online. And likes to work on projects where a comprehensive understanding of editing and compositing (visual techniques) come together to tell a story better.
Prior to studying at the film institute, she finished Masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and Bachelors in English Literature from Indraprastha College, Delhi University.
Ritika has recently moved to New York and worked on a few projects as a script supervisor as well, and is looking forward to collaborating with interesting and varied content across formats.
